The feature of the Mosport Victoria Day Speedfest is the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires. The Championship’s second season kicks off this weekend and the fans are anticipating another incredible battle throughout the year. The Championship will visit five different tracks this year as part of eight different weekends in Ontario and Quebec.The Championship is comprised of two Classes of racecars; Touring Class in the entry level Class where only minimal modifications are allowed while Super Touring Class has the powerful heavily modified racecars with engines up to 2.8 litres. Drivers can start out in Touring Class and develop their racecraft and then move up to Super Touring Class when they are ready for more power and speed. Both Classes compete at the same time on the track and challenge for supremacy in their Class which creates an amazing show.
Charles-Andre Bilodeau is back to defend his Championship in Super Touring Class. He is part of the GT Racing Team which is a two car BMW effort. He and his teammate Etienne Borgeat have rebuilt their cars over the winter and are anxious for the first event. They will be challenged by several two car teams including JL Racing (Saab), VMC (Honda), Krikorian Motorsports (Subaru), Auto Analyser Racing (Lexus), 8Legs Racing (BMW) and Fastco Racing (Hyundai).
Andre and Anthony Rapone are coming off their rookie seasons and have built two Acura Integras to race in Touring Class. The brothers are part of the Durabond Racing Team and have shown to be very competitive against more experienced drivers. The will be challenged by TwoFast Racing (two Mazdas), Mad Macs Racing (two Nissans) and even a Mercedes-Benz.
