Toronto Grand Prix is back!

Andretti Green Promotions, the race promotions side of Michael Andretti's Andretti Green Racing, has finalized the purchase of the assets of the Toronto Grand Prix Champ Car race.

The news is great for Toronto race fans as the Grand Prix of Toronto will now accompany the Grand Prix of Edmonton on the 2009 Indycar schedule, restoring one of the crown jewels on the open wheel racing calendar.

"As a driver, Toronto was always my favorite race of the year and it will be no different as a promoter," said Michael Andretti. "The fans are some of the most enthusiastic you'll ever be around and we're looking forward to building on the great history of this event."
