NASCAR: JUNIOR IN THE WIN COLUMN

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. took the checkered to garner his first win in 76 point races before a highly enthusiastic crowd at Michigan International Speedway in the Lifelock 400.

Earnhardt's win was nearly squashed by one caution, three laps from the schedule distance of 400 miles, only to have victory secured by the final caution which ended racing under NASCAR's green/white/checkered rule.

Kasey Kahne finished second, followed by Matt Kenseth in third. Brian Vickers and Tony Stewart rounded out the top five. Jimmie Johnson led six times, for 65 laps, the most by any driver, as he finished sixth. Carl Edwards, David Ragan, Elliott Sadler and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top ten.
