NCATS: Micks planning to return to winner's circle at Autodrome St. Eustache

MOUNT ALBERT, ONTARIO (July 3, 2008) – After a terrific start for 2008 and then some setbacks, Kerry Micks is planning a return to the podium when he competes in the Kodak 250 at the Autodrome St. Eustache race track this weekend.

“We came out this year with some great success,” said the driver of the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Fusion, “but we’ve struggled with equipment failure and other factors since the race at Cayuga, and it has to stop.”

The Kodak 250, the fourth race in the 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this year, will be run Saturday, July 5.

It was originally scheduled to be contested May 31, but was rained out. The track is a paved oval four-tenths of a mile in length, and was opened in 1965.

The former CASCAR Super Series Champion is presently eighth in the standings, with a top-five and a pair of top-ten finishes to his credit.

This event is the first time the NASCAR series has raced at the track, although it was a regular stop for the CASCAR Super Series and is well-known to many in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

“This is a pretty tight track,” said Micks, who had two series victories in 2007. “We’ve been here before, though, and plan on being right up there at the end of the race.”

The Kodak 250 will take place Saturday, July 5 at Autodrome St. Eustache in Saint-Eustache, Quebec.
