Friday, June 13th he split qualifying heat wins with Gage Morin, the grandson of Cornwall Motor Speedway owner/promoter Ron Morin, then steered his Stover Bus Lines/Old Forester/Kingston Paint & Decorating/Corcoran Excavating/Independent Insurance & Investment Group-Marty Stover 2008 Bicknell racer to a strong 2nd place finish, behind Jessica Zemken and just ahead of Laurent Ladouceur. While many may have looked at 'Friday the 13th' as being unlucky, the 17 year-old from Elginburg, Ontario had recorded his best run of the season.
The next night at Brockville Ontario Speedway, Herrington took the initial green flag in 8th position and while the pack battled 3 and sometimes even 4 wide around the quarter-mile layout, the #25 car had advanced to 7th when the first caution flew at lap 3. Another yellow
came out at lap 11, with Herrington still holding steady. 4 laps later, the field was slowed again and some heavy traffic had dropped him back to 10th. When race leader Stephane Lafrance looped his #115 in turn 4, Herrington remained 10th but when the final yellow of the race was
displayed at lap 25 of Jessica Zemken's spin, he was 11th. That's where he finished the DIRTcar 358 modified main event, won by Kingston's Danny O'Brien.
