BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO (June 15, 2008) –After starting on the outside pole position with great expectations, Kerry Micks had a disappointing day in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series stock car event at Mosport International Raceway Sunday.
“Our BDI Ford was great this weekend, we qualified second and took the lead in the race on the first lap,” said Micks after the race. “We led the first six laps and then laid back, saving the equipment for what is usually a dramatic and exciting finish at Mosport that we had planned to be part of.”
But a suspension failure stalled the charge in the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Fusion on Micks, who hails from Mount Albert, Ontario on the 2.459-mile road circuit.
“This was a devastating day for me and our team, and it cost us several positions in the point standings,” added Micks. “But we’ll rebound, I’ve got a great team that works hard and this is just a minor setback you never count the BDI team out.”
J.R. Fitzpatrick won the Dickies 200 presented by Lucas Oil, D.J. Kennington was second and Don Thomson Jr. finished third.
The next event for the Beyond Digital Imaging/Micks Motorsports team will be race four in the 13-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on the third-mile tri-oval at Barrie Speedway Saturday, June 28.
Beyond Digital Imaging Inc. (BDI), Canadian Detailing Services, Crane Lake Resort, HP Canada, Ultraflex, Cathcart Trucking, Castrol and NGK Spark Plugs are sponsors of Micks Motorsports.
