Bourque takes part in sporting function at a top Montreal private school

Recently, race car driver Pierre Bourque took part in a function at Selwyn House, a top private school in Montreal's Westmount district. According to Bourque, hundreds of people attended, including many of the city's 'movers and shakers', along with their kids, to meet the assembled athletes and get their autographs.

Bourque (on the left) is shown in the picture (Photo by Bill Bedard) with Montreal Canadiens star Alexi Kovalev (over Bourque's shoulder). Continuing from left to right were 2006 Olympic Gold Medal Moguls skier Jennifer Heil, David Testo (of soccer's Montreal Impact), and Matthew Proulx of the CFL Montreal Alouettes.

Bourque reported a "tremendous amount" of interest in NASCAR and said it was "a pleasure to talk enthusiastically about our sport with both the parents and their kids, as well as with the other athletes."

While at Selwyn House, Bourque brought some of his racing helmets to show around and enjoyed watching Kovalev put one on, while explaining to him some of the safety and communications features of the piece.
