F1 Montreal: Clowns to the rescue?

A delegation including the mayor of Montreal and federal cabinet minister who lost his bid for a seat in the recent federal election is jetting overseas to rescue the Canadian GP.

This story on CTV.CA ends with a note that Guy Laliberte, the President of Cirque du Soleil and an F1 fan, is "ready to get involved" in the event.

Wouldn't it be great if they used Laliberte's money to pay Bernie Ecclestone what he wants for the 2009 race, plus whatever he feels he is owed for the 2006 through 2008 Cdn. GPs? ... instead of your tax dollars? Heck, we can dream.

And how fitting that a guy who runs a circus would get involved in running Canada's F1 race...
