ANTIGONISH, NS - JR Fitzpatrick won the pole for tonight's Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 at Riverside Int'l Raceway. It marked the first time that time trials have been held for an oval race in '08 that the best time wasn't set by JR's Fitzpatrick Motorsports teammate Don Thomson. Thomson has six oval poles in '08. Fitzpatrick now has one. The starting lineup at the Mosport Speedway event in August was set by the point standings (Scott Steckly started out front) as qualifying was rained out.
In all, 23 drivers took part in time trials at Riverside. MOPAR driver Ron Beauchamp Jr. will start second, ahead of Thomson, last year's race winner Mark Dilley, Peter Gibbons, Jeff Lapcevich, DJ Kennington, hometown hero Donald Chisholm and Brad Graham.
