Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship News Flashes... April 8, 2008

A pair of cars for Mad Macs...
Markham Ontario - Team Mad Macs Racing announced today that they will again campaign two fully race prepared Nissan Sentra SER Spec V’s in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, presented by Toyo Tires for 2008.
Perry Iannuzzi, team owner, along side of his team mate and 2007 Ontario Challenge Cup Sprint Race Overall Champion, Frank Blanchet, are just completing the final stages of preparation of what has been a long winter of upgrades & improvements to their fleet of race cars.
The team will being doing battle in the championship in the heavily populated & highly competitive Touring Car division. “I’m coming off a very successful 2007 season and I look forward to being extremely competitive with all the upgrades and improvements we’ve made to our car this year” Blanchet said. The competition for 2008 will be tough from all reports with all the drivers from last year bringing their A game for this season. “We’ve invested heavily in more powerful, more reliable technology for this year” Iannuzzi added.
Team Mad Macs Racing enters it’s eighth year of competition and is well known for producing top flight Nissan race cars. They boast an impressive resume of a multitude of race wins, podium finishes & class championships since 2002. For 2008 the team will utilize support from a great crew, whom have been unselfishly working hard all winter to get the cars prepped and ready to race by the first weekend in May.

P.J. Groenke Racing Enters CTCC
TORONTO, ON - P.J. Groenke Racing is thrilled to announce today that the team will be entering a 2000 Honda Civic hatchback in the 2008 Canadian Touring Car Championship series, Touring Class.
“We have high expectations to win the championship. And we will strive all through the season to achieve our goals this year,” said P.J. Groenke, the team driver.
In collaboration with Tom Calusic of TCR, P.J. Groenke Racing has worked over the winter months to transform the car into a championship contender. The team is currently building a second car to enter into the series mid-season.
Being on the winning team is not an uncharted territory for P.J. In 2006 together with co-driver Dave Diedrick, P.J. brought home the 52nd Indian Summer Trophy for winning the War Bonnet Enduro.
