Fastco Motorsports to field two-car team in Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship


Fastco Motorsports, a division of Fastco Canada, announced today that it would field a two-car team in this year's Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, to compete in the Super Touring Car class.

The cars entered are 2008 Hyundai Tiburon GTs equipped with the 2.7 liter, V-6, 4 cam engine and are being prepared by GT Racing, last year's champions. The CCTCC is Canada's premier touring car series and consists of 16 races held on 6 road-racing circuits across Quebec and Ontario. The first race will be held on May 17 & 18 at Mosport, Ontario.

The father and son team of Glenn and Lee Chaplin will handle the driving duties. Glenn is the operations manager and Lee is a regional sales manager at Fastco Canada.

The vehicles will also be on display at a number of car shows across Quebec & Ontario this summer.

In other Fastco news, Fastco Canada announced the introduction of its new competition wheel line today, to coincide with its participation in this year’s Canadian Touring Car Championship.

The FCO1 is an ultra-light, alloy wheel manufactured by using the flow forming process, and is designed for competition use. The wheel, available in 17 x 8” weighs 16.3 lbs, and is offered in a number of bolt circles and offsets. It comes in both hyper silver and gunmetal finishes and has a suggested retail price of $335.00.

The FCO2 is a light, super strong, forged, alloy wheel and is also ideal for competition purposes. The wheel, available in 17 x 7.5” weighs 17lbs, and is offered in two bolt circles. It comes in platinum finish only. It has a suggested retail price of $378.00.

Both wheels will be available at Fast Wheels dealers across the country by early May.
