I haven't seen anything official from IndyCar, the GP of Edmonton or the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series yet, but according to the 2008 Cooper Tires Presents The Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda schedule, the GP of Edmonton is slated to take place July 25-26. That's one week later than originally planned.
And according to this piece on Speedtv.com, there will be a total of four Atlantic races in Canada in 2008, including Mt. Tremblant, Edmonton (2) and Trois-Rivieres.
Also confirming the GP of Edmonton date change is the fact that Sun Valley Speedway - whose NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race was originally announced (by NASCAR) for a July 12 date, is now advertising Saturday, July 19 as its 2008 racedate. It's accepted that the NCATS teams have to race on consecutive weekends during the tour's western swing.
