The Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modifieds put out the following: "The Canadian Vintage Modified club is pleased to announce that Lucas Oil Products Inc. will be their title sponsor for the next two seasons. Lucas Oil began sponsoring CVM three years ago. Club President, Gilles Bedard says everyone is thrilled about the sponsorship, “Over the past three years our two organizations have developed a very strong relationship and we look forward to building on this success for many more years to come.”
Lucas Oil Products is one of the fastest growing additive lines in the automotive industry. Oils, greases, and problem solving additives have helped Lucas to establish its place in the industry.
Other sponsors for the 2008 season are Grisdale Enterprises of Dundas, Canadian Automotive and Trucking Institute of Cambridge, Creative Edge Signs and Graphics in Kitchener, Stealth Titanium Valves of Michigan, John’s RV Centre of Milton, Flamboro Machine Shop of Dundas, Leaf Racewear and Safety Equipment in London, and B&B Decals of Oakville.
The 2008 season of Canadian Vintage Modifieds racing is shaping up to be another exciting one! Bedard says there will be new rivalries heating up the track. “Our 2007 champion Phil Shaw will be back to defend his crown however he won’t be challenged this season by his closest rival Steve Lyons. Steve has decided to run a limited schedule this season but this won’t mean that Shaw is going to have a free ride.”
